    About Library

Welcome to Samtse College of Education’s (SCE) library website. This website will serve as a gateway to the resources and services the College Library provides.

The website mainly provides a brief introduction to the facilities and services provided by the library, operating hours and other basic information pertaining to the library. The library plays a critical component in maintaining high quality and standard of learning, teaching and assessment practices in the College. It serves as a learning hub and is indeed the lifeline of all academic programmes in the College. The vision of SCE to become the Centre of Excellence Committed to Research and Innovation in Education is strongly hinged on the facilities and services available in the College Library.

SCE Library is a semi-automatic library. The library service is disseminated through an integrated library system known as Koha. Koha is open source library software widely used by libraries. The use of such library operating system has made accessing library services very convenient, easy and efficient. For example, a user has to simply type a keyword on the search field of the library catalogue to browse and locate books on library shelves by following the particular classification number assigned to a book.

Our library has a vast collection and diverse collections on various subjects and discipline in teacher education, counseling, social work, psychology, research, including government documents and other collections relevant and useful to support the academic programmes offered in the College. In addition to the physical library book holdings, academics and students also have access to a number of online databases such as research4life, EBSCO, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), etc. to support their teaching and learning.

The College library encourages all academics, staff and students to take the opportunity to make the optimal use of the facilities and services available in the library. Visit us during any of our operation hours and unleash your innate potential by expanding your knowledge and learning. The expanse of knowledge and learning is limitless and do not set the sky as the limit of your knowledge and learning. Aim beyond the sky because to aim low is a sin.
